June 22nd, 1940. In their village of Pontrain l’Ecluse, François, 13-year-old, farmer’s son, and Eusèbe, the teacher’s son, see the German troops coming. Revolted by the inhabitants’ passiveness, François decides to take actions with the help of Eusèbe and Lisa, a young German girl who fled the Nazi regime. In this small French village, occupied by the German army, those three children refuse to surrender to the enemy. But how do you resist such a powerful opponent when you’re only thirteen?
