Blacksad is a cult comic book series featuring a cat detective in an anthropomorphic universe, in the United States in the 1950s. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the American roman noir genre, the hard-boiled style. Transfigured by the drawing style and beautiful aquarelle colors of Juanjo Guarnido, the series also draws its strength from the quality of its stories, skilfully crafted by Juan Diaz Canales.
